Buyer beware!!! Rusts and leaks!!

Buyer beware!!! Rusts and leaks!!
I purchased the 8gal version of this kettle and it rusted inside and outside after the first use, even after drying thoroughly!! See photos. The ball valve and thermometer port both leaked. I wrapped the threads heavily with Teflon but to no avail. If all that was not bad enough, customer service from Bargain home brew was the worst I've ever experienced. Don't be fooled by the name, you are not getting a bargain with any equipment from this company. It's expensive junk.

Pot works well no issues, construction sound, assembly piece of cake. Used gravity for drainage with an old school counter chiller. Worked great no leaks. I'd buy this unit again if found at orginal price back in 2014. Thanks BHB...the best!!!

I installed the ball valve and thermometer and everything seemed high quality. The pot weighed just over 30 pounds. I started to fill I with water and 8 gallons in I noticed moisture where the stainless started to roll under at the base of the pot. There were pin holes and micro fractures all around the pot at about one inch from the bottom. They wept at a slow rate but ultimately the pot is good only for scrap stainless.

I'm somehow disappointed with this product due to the way it has been constructed. Unlike my previous brewing pot that is a one piece formed on a press, this one is welded. The bottom seems to be formed on a separate process and welded to a cylinder which makes the pot to its shape. The sides of the pot are also welded, so too many welding that can lead to cracks, which has been reported by other consumers here.

We are so excited about this kettle. As we homebrew now, we can support two all-grain brews at the same time. This pot is of good quality, the valve and thermometer were easy to install.
